At Appalachian Autos, we believe in enhancing the lives of our senior citizens by supporting vital nutrition programs in West Virginia. Donations to our Senior Meal Programs make a direct impact on the lives of homebound seniors through Meals on Wheels and at congregate meal sites at local senior centers. Many seniors face challenges in accessing nutritious meals, and together, we can help bridge that gap.
Your vehicle donation translates into dollars that can provide meals, nutrition-risk assessments, and even safety check-ins for our most vulnerable residents. With every donation, you're not only helping to deliver meals but also providing peace of mind to seniors and their families, knowing they are cared for and supported in their community.

↗Real impact, real numbers
Your contribution has a measurable impact on the lives of seniors in West Virginia. A vehicle donation valued at $1,500 can fund over 200 home-delivered meals, ensuring that seniors receive both nutritious food and safety checks during delivery. For congregate meal settings, that same donation can provide over 400 meals, enabling seniors to enjoy communal dining experiences that promote connection and well-being. Every dollar matters, and we maximize your generosity to support those who need it most.
How we vet recipient partners
We take pride in partnering with reputable organizations that uphold high accountability standards. Our recipient programs are vetted based on their affiliation with Area Agencies on Aging and their compliance with federal and state accountability standards. We prioritize members of the Meals on Wheels America network and programs that meet the Older Americans Act Title III-C nutrition standards. Importantly, we select partners with no or short waiting lists, reflecting their ability to effectively serve seniors in need.
How proceeds flow
After vehicle auction sale, approximately 70-80% of gross proceeds reach our partnering nonprofit programs. From there, funds are strategically allocated based on program ratios, ensuring that your donation makes the greatest impact in providing meals and services to seniors. This funding structure is designed to maximize every dollar raised, delivering critical assistance directly to the seniors who need it most.
West Virginia recipient landscape
West Virginia is home to many seniors who face food insecurity and isolation. With limited transportation options and social support, access to meals is crucial for their health and well-being. State funding for senior nutrition programs often falls short, making your donations even more vital. By contributing to Appalachian Autos, you help sustain local initiatives that prioritize the nutritional needs of seniors throughout our region.
